can you lay down kings pre flop?

This question has haunted the best of pros. There is a time i think i would even lay down aces pre flop that is for later talk. Well here we go. The blinds were 5 dollars and 10 dollars and i raised to 30 dollars pre flop the player to my left insta shoved all in for 230 dollars what would you do? Well i had kings and i was thinking the player had aces ace king or ace queen all marginal hands except aces i am crushed. I have to risk 200 dollars more into a pot at the time was 60 dollars. Now if you look at it the other way The pot was 460 dollars total and i had to put in 200 to win 460 so i was getting 2 to 1

not a bad call with kings. The problem was i kept thinking he had aces and it wasnt worth it to me. This is the topic of the day would you have called and why? I think that we all have to ability to fold kings pre flop but our minds get in the way saying well he can't have aces. The other question is he can't have me beat i have kings i have a monster i am better than you. I had a talk with a friend last night sitting on his porch about cards and kings fold pre flop. This is his instight and great wisdom i might add. I said is it a good thing to fold aces and he says no which i agree to extent but he also said that if you read him for aces good lay down. He also informed me that i have a big target on my back because i raise and make players make big decisions for their chips. The problem he told me in my game is that i play too aggressive and do not have a button in my body to slow down and i play too many hands. Well what would you do if someone tells you this get mad say no i don't do that. Tell him to leave you alone and go home. No these are all the wrong things to do. When a player gives you insight and tries to help your game out you listen. Which i thought in my head what he was talking about and i could relate it to a bunch of the hands i played like getting called into the river with a 9 high flush draw as a lesson in my game i need to learn. I can play good but a bad player will put his chips in no matter what just to hit his draw. OHH and thanks ABE. Now i will learn these need tools like laying down kings pre flop and learning that a player is always putting their chips in bad. This will allow me to refine my game some more and hopefully this year you will see me on ESPN on the final table and yes IVEY i will not lay down a flush 8 high.

may you have big pots,
