There are a few reasons why you have to put all your chips on the line. I found out tonight i did not need to put my chips at risk. Sometimes you have to make the all mighty hero bluff move and hope the player is weak and lays middle pair down. The other time to push is
to raise with the semi bluff. This bet is when you have the nut flush draw and hope the player lays his hand down and if they do not you have the chance with the a lot of outs to win. This all knowing bet is truly and faithfully one of the biggest disasters or show of wealth all in one time and one moment. I have played a lot of poker and saw this bet abused so much and like i found out tonight i was wrong or right well you be the judge. I had pocket 9s not the most favorable hand and there was 4 people in the hand. I wanted to isolate and go up against a draw or at best a smaller pair. I had around 1000 chips in the 1500 chip entry with re buys. The blinds were 50 and 100 so i made a raise pre flop to 250 so 2.5 times the blind like the book says lol. Well the flop comes and its me and one other player. The flop is all low 8 4 2 with 2 hearts on the board. So what do i do all in skiiiii. I wanted just to take the pot down there and win and get back in the tournament. The problem was the player had king jack of hearts. So the player called a flush draw for 7/8 of there chips. At that point was is a good call with just a draw to the 2nd nut? I do not know but with tournament play and a re buy it was an easy and instant call trust me. Did i do anything wrong or complain like all the players that i was out draw and what was the person thinking. Well thats not my style and i said nice hand. Now i had time to ponder my mistake in the hand and trust me there was a big one. When the flop was two hearts and all that i have is the 2nd starting hand in poker. I E ace high then a pair then 2 pair.... I had the chance to just bet a little and see the turn or check. I made to much value for my hand and said i have to have the best hand here and did not think what the other player could have. If i checked and saw the turn i would have realized that there was the possibility for the flush and by me betting 100 i could have been still in the tournament. Now is that good or bad play on my part. Well bad i would still be in of course. I did the all in bet when i did not have to i still had 7.5 times the blind chip stack left and could have doubled up and won. The third and easist time to go all in speaks for itself the i have the nut you suck bet. When someone raises you and you have the nut flush it makes you feel warm inside. So i hope you use the all in bet in your favor and win a lot of big pots.
may you have big pots,
